About Sarah

Sarah Andyshak’s artistic career ran into a roadblock at age 3, when the pictures she was drawing failed to match the ones in her head. She has lived and worked internationally on and off since she was 11 years old. She loves hiking, museums, architecture, studying languages, and reading mystery novels.

Sarah’s art is inspired by her travels, experiences, the medieval manuscripts she studied for her dissertation, and her broader studies in art history. She specializes in watercolor and calligraphy, and became interested in digital art in 2019. She has been exploring adapting her physical work and techniques into a digital context since then.

Sarah studied web and mobile development at Portland’s Epicodus bootcamp, and particularly enjoys the design aspect of development.

Sarah completed her PhD in art history at Florida State University. She taught art history for 7 years at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. Sarah now lives in Oregon and works as Director of Willamette University’s Digital Learning Studio..
